Feed My Starving Children

April 18, 2020

Founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a Christian non-profit that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. Their process is simple. Donations given fund the meal ingredients. Volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are then donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved!

Registration has already began for this event and space is limited. If you are still interested in volunteering, please let us know and we will try our best to fit you in or we will place you on a waitlist.

What We'll Be Doing

We'll be volunteering for a one-of-a-kind experience with Feed My Starving Children. We’ll hand-pack rice, soy, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags which are then sealed, boxed, placed on pallets and shipped to their incredible partners working hard to reach the neediest children around the world.

Things To Know

  • Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your packing session to check-in. Your orientation and packing instructions will take place during your scheduled shift time.
  • For safety reasons, children under the age of 5 are not allowed in the packing area.
  • To comply with FDA requirements and remove all opportunity for foreign objects to fall into the life-saving meals (which could cause choking, tooth breakage and more), FMSC volunteers must remove all jewelry and/or accessories before packing. This includes earrings, watches, rings, necklaces, pins, etc. Wedding bands are permitted however, if your band has a stone you will be required to wear a glove.

  • They highly recommend all volunteers wear closed-toed shoes. If you volunteer in the warehouse, closed-toed shoes will be required.

  • If you have had a cough, fever, diarrhea, pink eye, or have been vomiting or are contagious within the last 24 hours, they ask that you reschedule your packing time.
